Time management

Wasting time

watch

I hate wasting time. Hate when other people waste their time. The feeling of 0% of ECE at the end of the day just kills me. Time, for sure, is the most precious resource we have. And it is non-renewable! It just goes away. Every day, hour, minute, second - they don't come back, you cannot live through them again.. The worse thing is that it passes so fast and we realize it too late - yes sometimes you just want to kill your time and get something you've been waiting for for such a log time, but the next time your birth day comes, you just don't believe that one more year of your life is gone...

Time management

When I was a high school student, my dad explained me ECE percentage concept. (He is PhD in Math and Physics.) So, without all scientific terms, it is simply the measure of efficiency, measure of effective and useful actions. Nothing completed is 0% and 100% is all items "checked" in your daily planner. In oder to be successful, we have to strive for 100% efficiency everyday... I can say, it helped me a lot. 22 years old now and in my 2nd year of Master of Science studies. Many of my students in an undergraduate course where I am Teaching Assistant are older than me for 2-3 years! Being close to 100% everyday saves you years at the end.

S o, how to get 100% ECE?

to do list

Planning and actually FOLLOWING your plans! Write down your long term and short term goals. Than, find out and write what should you do in order to achieve them. Develop your action plan, set milestones and deadlines for yourself. Keep a calendar and daily planners and "To do list"(s). Prioritize your plans and keep everything reasonable. Don't forget to check how many items you have completed at the end of a day and count your ECE. Not only it is going to make you a more organized person, but also will help SAVE your time.

I s it so easy?

Yes and no. Yes, just count your ECE everyday and strive for 100%, but no, because you actually have to ACT - develop and realize your plans. Don't think that it is all academic plans. Don't forget about recreation, social life, family, sports.. It is all should be in your plans. Good luck!
